Short Term Accommodation (respite)

MDSS provides Short Term Accommodation for children, young people and adults with disability all year round.

Our accommodation service is available for short stays, overnight stays or long stays, and supports are delivered by qualified and friendly staff providing a range of activities in a safe space for people with disability to enjoy their out of home break.

Our services provide an opportunity for participants to:

· Learn new skills

· Participate in community activities

· Make friends and take part in a multitude of social activities

· Connect with services and resources in the community

Types of support

We provide many types of accommodation support:

  • in-home respite for a couple of hours at a time, over-night or extended periods
  • short-term or long-term respite in one of our homely facilities
  • emergency respite
  • regular, ongoing respite
  • respite for carers.

With accommodation support you’ll meet someone who will take care of the day-to-day things your carer usually provides (including personal care). We know finding the right person for your support is really important, that’s why we’d love to share a little more about our team here.
