Our Core Values
Mudgee Disability Support Service is a not-for-profit organisation and was originally known as Mudgee Accommodation Support Service. The service opened in 1989 and initially supported people with intellectual disability to gain accommodation and to live independently under the auspices of ADHC (Ageing, Disability and Home Care). The service employed approximately 4 support workers.
In 2004 Christine Puxty, C.E.O came on board and made some big changes to the organisation. This saw a name change to Mudgee Disability Support Service; the development and management of a Children's Group Home - which is now an adult SIL home; the addition of Day Program services and Respite Accommodation and a growth in clientele that is still continuing today.
MDSS staff are qualified, kind and friendly support workers with certification in disabilities, individual support and nursing (or currently working towards). Our staff are experienced in working with complex needs and challenging behaviours. We provide supports in all areas of disability services and our staff are passionate and committed to delivering the best care for all our participants.
